What a hectic month. Hot August Nights has come and gone, school has stated;Burning Man has come and gone also, what else; Rib Cook Off just finished. Are we looking forward to the Balloon Races and Air Races? Ahuh! not looking forward to Street Vibrations. These are the goings ons that leads to !!yes!! Knitting weather.
Those of you who only knit in the winter need to get started on all your holiday gifts. I, myself, knit year round and still try to scrunch.
Got started knitting my Christmas presents and making samples for my LYS; Had to stop briefly to join the Ravelmpics; two weeks of intense knitting and crocheting.
As you may or may not know the month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It’s a subject which hits close to many of us; a close friend, family member and even some of the people we meet through knitting or crocheting. Rosemary Chapman, the designer of The “Booby Sock” has a kit out through Skacel Collections. The Kit includes one limited edition Pink Trekking XXL yarn,"Booby Sock” pattern and beads, which comes in a clear drawstring plastic bag. This yarn was dyed especially for that purpose. Skacel is donate proceeds to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research. So, lets knit for the cure.

Oh darn, as many of you know, the empty lot that we use for parking has been taken over by construction as a drop off for their supplies–redoing the sewers in the neighborhood. Rats! puts a kink in the parking situation; no fret, there is still some parking.
Talk about knitting n’ ripping, it seems for every 3 or 4 rows I knit, I rip twice as much. This project is not growing at all.
For those of you in the Reno area, the shops on Vassar is planning a side-walk-sale which will be broadcast on channel 2; I believe should be Sept. 20,21.
Something new is sweeping about, “dreadlock wrapping” yes and they are using yarns to do this hair artwork. Seems to have been a big thing at Burning Man. It’s the biggest thing since tiedye. Go figure!!
